If you are not realistic about the colleges you are considering, your college athletic recruiting process is going to be very disappointing. Think about it this way, if you bat sixth on your high school baseball team, you aren’t going to bat fourth at an elite Division I college. The funnel that high school athletes go through to make it at the next level has a very small opening at the bottom. Less than 2% of high school athletes go on to play at any level in college, because it is extremely competitive. If you want to be part of the 2% you need to train hard, study hard, have a recruiting strategy and be realistic!
College athletics is the way to the pros for some athletes, but more importantly it is a way to continue to compete, to help pay for college, to learn life lessons and to get an education.
